About PawGuide
I'm Marcus. I have a four-year-old golden retriever named Biscuit and a cat named Vera who has been running the household since 2019. A few years ago I started keeping notes whenever I had questions about what they could eat, why they were doing weird things, or how to handle a new situation — mostly because I kept landing on sites that made me scroll through four paragraphs of disclaimers before admitting the answer was "yes" or "no."
PawGuide is that notes document, turned into a website. The goal is simple: answer the question clearly, add whatever context actually matters, and stop there. I try to write each page the way I'd explain something to a friend who just texted me asking about their dog — not like I'm writing a medical journal entry, but also not like I'm talking to someone who's never heard of a dog before.
I'm not a vet and I don't pretend to be. When something is genuinely a "call your vet" situation, I'll say so. But a lot of common pet questions have straightforward answers that don't require a professional consultation, and that's most of what this site covers.
If something is wrong on here, let me know. I'd rather fix a mistake than have bad info floating around. Biscuit and Vera are counting on it.
